The other night, Tennessee suffered a lot of tornadoes - one of which was a Category F4 that left a trail of destruction 35 miles long. Here in Smyrna, we missed that storm system by just a few miles. Out of six or seven squall lines that came through the area, only the last one really got us and thankfully had weakened somewhat by that time.
However, at least 31 people died in Tennessee - 10 of whom lived on the same street in Macon County. But with all the heartaches and pain, people can witness some extraordinary miracles...

There has been lots of news items about it here in the UK. Sounds pretty bad.
You sure were lucky ,better go out and buy a lottery ticket.
Being born in Lawton, Oklahoma (Tornado Alley) and raised a great chunk of my life there I can tell you it is always wonderful to see anyone survive, especially children. I am praying for the family though as the baby has lost her mother.
Bobby, I am glad to hear you and yours are well. Spring like weather gives me the willies to this day whenever theres a thunderstorm. I too have survived a twister and witnessed firsthand the destruction.
Fatdog, I hope you have one of those underground shelters for your family and your boomers. Important do you have all your personal property insued?
My bad, do you have insurance on all your belongings?

Yeah, we have tens of thousands of dollars in coverage for our personal stuff, but we all know that even money sometimes can't replace all things. I'd love to have a bunker built into our back yard - nothing huge, just big enough for the family, the firearms, and a boombox or two.
Maybe we could move to New Hampshire or Vermont.

That is why my wife today will not have a home without a basement. Can't blame her though. I told her what happened to me when I was ten and then we had the one that came through Birmingham in '98, and that sealed the deal.
APR 8, 1998 6:42pm
32 dead 258 injured
Deaths were WSW of Birmingham, most at Oak Grove, Jefferson County; 608 homes were destroyed.

That kind of news is:
Bobby, I'm glad you and your family are safe. I pray for the others that weren't so fortunate. It's really tragic.
