I'd say it was too much Gator defense. They took 10-14 points off of the board in the first half, turned out to be the difference in the game. That interception about 5 minutes into the 4th quarter and ensuing TD drive put it away.
Tebow was good, but the D was great.
That last "jump shot" TD pass was great. I hadn't seen a play like that before.
the gators are a florida college football team skippy ,they also developed and invented gatorade.
I know Floyd....
I just wanted to get a rise out of Ira.
Thanks man!
and they invented football
As a die hard Sooner fan (born in Lawton, OK) here are my thoughts on the game:
1. Congrats to the Gators. Great job Sooners. Seesaw battle til the end. All defense, little offense. Lot's of money lost in Vegas.
2. Yes we do play defense in the Big-12.
3. Tebow was not the difference maker for Florida. Ahmad Black was. He helped keep the ball off the ground for the first, and snatched the second interception out the recievers hand.
4. We need a playoff. As much as I love the Sooners and enjoy watching the Gators, the system is skewed. I really would've preferred to see Utah.
5. Bob Stoops amazes me with his arrogance at times. Yes, Oklahoma has a prolific offense. But by the time he was sitting on on fourth and goal something should have clicked and said "Take The Points". May not have made a difference in the end but at least you enter the half with a lead. Both times stupid plays were run.
1st: Counter off left tackle. Uh, why not sweep? There was 15yds to the left corner???
2nd: Florida was not even trying to sack Bradford. Eight defending the pass in a ten yard deep zone. Pass? WTF???
Stoops was outcoached. You can say it was his offensive coordinator, but Stoops is the boss, so he is responsible. Oklahoma ran no bubble screens, or flares. Plays that made them money through the season.
And so it is done. Let the talk begin. But for right now...
Who thinks the Cardinals are going to the Super Bowl?
