Yap..... That is it! I have had enough!!!!!!!!!! It has been a year and three, or so, months here in Ireland!!!!!!!!!
IT IS TIME FOR US TO BUY A HOUSE
SO I CAN START BRINGING MY BBOXES (all of them) OVER HERE.... progressivly! Sick of it, sick of it, sick of it!!!!!! And, I am so sure that working on belt changing is going to be at the top of the "Bringing Over" plan!
We have been going to all the bankers around for a simple morgage..... and it is like, "Well with the economy...." Bull shiIt story, it is going to take time!
Now, before coming to Ireland, I had asked our bank in France if we could borrow money from them to buy in Ireland. They said, "Yes."
Just a few months ago when we were ready, I called my French banker and he said, "The French Central Bank told us not to lend, for the time being, to most Anglosaxson countries."
Any one super rich here on stereo2go that could lend us some money at a fixed 3.5 percent interest rate over a period of 20 years, by any chance?????
all these 'no lend' stories are irrational
because real property , at a conservative $$ appraisal, is the absolute safest form of collateral (other than gold bars)
so - if banks stop making mortgages -
what else can they lend money for with any security --??
soon - the banks that dont mortgage will have ZERO $$ for dependable income --
and these banks will surely be bankrupt.
KEEP TRYING , brian
Interest rate in Ireland is 3.5 fixed??? That is nice - in the US I think it's more like 5%....

I was thinking the same thing. I have no sympathy for these banks going under or be bought out after all the people they turned down that asked them for help. To he11 with them for allowing homeowners, small business, etc. sink. No matter what continent, we are all suffering but need to survive and provide for our loved ones. We're all in this together and need to help each other. It'll all come around to us again afterall. I wish you the very best of luck my friend.
So true dude!!!!!!! But, we are not going to stop... just one step back for three steps forward!!!!
Valdi,
I do think it is a little hire than 3.5, and variable rates are at 2.4 or so. So I fixed it at 3.5 (this is Bredgeo Bank and Co.
).
