Unknown Coin

Yesterday i found at flea a old tape-storage i took.
Under the tapes i found a old coin of America.
It´s very big (see pic comparing with a cassette).
One side stands 5cent with a bull on it
Other side an indian head and "1913" and "Liberty".
Anybody knows what this is.
Is it a real old coin of this time, or a jubilee-repro or what else? Confused

An old U.S. nickel (5 cents). Called an Indian Head nickel or Buffalo nickel. Minted from 1913 to 1938. Wiki has all the info.

I just realized that the coin in your photo isn't a real nickel, but much bigger (shown next to a cassette). Large coins like that are fun items that can be bought in stores.

Anywhere, a nice add to the tapes... Big Grin

My dad has one of those from way back, at least 30 years.

For those of us over here who might want one:

I think the official term for something like that is "novelty item." Thanks FD for the where-to-buy-it.

Geez, $7 for a lousy nickel?

Doesn't sound like a great deal to me.... Big Grin Wink
