ITS BEEN A BLAST !!!!!!!!!
and want to express my sincerest appreciation to all who post here--
___________________________
you have all saved my butt from total boredom
because:::
up until 2 years ago - i was working 6 days per week with a bunch a cool, funny mechanic friends at the local airport hangar --and everyday there was a great time -
but then some 'environmental' conditions suddenly made it so i couldnt work in there anymore-
so , instead, i got relegated to 'all alone HOME DUTY' as the aircraft parts expeditor --sitting at my computer 10 hours per day --studying parts catalogues, etc-- BORED SH-TLESS !!!!!
hovever (HAHAHA) , thats when i was lucky enough to find s2g --
and its been a big thrill to take a break every 1/2 hour --and,
to pop in here and enjoy the exciting boombox world

Well, being able to say that I actually met the infamous REDBENJOE, he is a kindred sprit to most of us I'm sure. The wrinkly old part of our spirit!
It was has been my privelege to not only get to chat with you Ira, but to have actually met you as well. You do more than your share to keep this place lively. Can't wait for the next 4783 posts!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Hey, Red it was great meeting you at the Florida meet. S2G is great place for all your boomboxes needs. I will say thank you in getting to know you and getting aquainted with your boomboxes.
Those of us at the Sunshine Mix know that Ira only has four years left, so let's enjoy him while we can.
Thanks for being a member here, Ira. It definitely wouldn't be the same without you.

Sure wish I could have met you at the Florida meet.
RBJ you've been a big reason I enjoy this site so much, I hope we can keep you around for a long time.

ok - and for those kind dudes concerned about my longevity --
i got a money-back certified 30 year warranty from the medical industry --
but my life insurance people told me to f-ck off

CORRECT!!!
I Think
wowee uncle ed -
(or any of our original s2g veterans)
-just looked at your own s2g starting date --way back in 2003-
and that has prompted 2 thoughts about being only 2
1. was this site sort of inactive -way back then ? like you had only a dozen members - early on
thats a problem with us 2 year old newbees --we missed the first 3 years of excitement--
and,
2. were the box prices for you old timers like 1/3 of what they are now ??
- to us newbees -a good 'grail' is $500 plus
guessing that $150 might have bought anything back then -- correct ???
from 200 miles away - i can still see Pan Fan cringe at the sight of any $300 + sale

Man, everybody is a stinkin' comedian these days.....
To answer your question, this is not the first, but rather the second site for what is known as stereo2go.com. There was an old board, boy was that the wild wild west.....
Back then, it was rare to see anything go for more than $400. There were a few watershed incidents that broke the ground for what are now ridiculous Epay prices.
Everybody "well almost everybody"
Rocks here!
nice one , skippy.

Redbenbuster....hmmm....I like it!
thanks Pan Fan --i think we all wish we were members --right from day one.
----
as to the prices question -- it was not another comedy thing --
i was just thinking that we have 2 separate member groups here --
those lucky buggers that bought most of their collection 'in the good old days'-
and us new members who are dealing with the 2008 market --
so you veteran members - have every right to think the new collectors are $$bonkers !
Happy anniversary, Ira
Right on, Ira! Glad to know you, congrats on the two year anny!
Thats why the oldtimers all have the same date...we migrated over via a bulk move on Oct 22, 2003.
A watershed incident, hmmmmm...
Panfan .... and one of the first RX5350's on ebay,
that was fun.
peter.griffin - 2008-08-14 06:55
congrats Ira!!
As the great Al Pacino once said. "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in"
This is the only forum I "actively" participate in. You cannot say enough about the members and administrators of this forum

Some moved over and registered the first day, some the second, etc. Most of the older folks showed up in late October 2003, the week that Paul launched this site.
Ahh yes Ed, the RX-5350. Memories of that wonderful loser xp123kid shill bidding, I probably would have won that one for less than $500 if his parents hadn't procreated. Remember the $2k Conion sale by Conion65, the one that he bought for, of all prices, $65? That was well before the RX-5350 auction. There were a handful of auctions that shot way up over $1k, I'm glad that at least mine came in at under a grand.
