for a home use amateur --$100 would seem like top dollar for a good CD player --
but asking if this listing is in line$$ for a pro model ? ::

what you want is one of these !ok probably not but the site has a good range of cd turntables to check out.
the pioneer cdj1000 seems to be the industry standard, although i believe that the technics is very good.
cool
looking at the price new
here of £724.50 each, the $1100 seems to be a bargain. as long as they are in good condition - the photo in the ebay listing looks like a library pic ?
is that a guitar?

it is a very strange thing - a cd player where the wheel lets you 'scratch' the music like a dj ! quite odd.

That CD turntable is a Pro-DJ model. They typically aren't sold to everyday joes like you and me. They are a complicated design as well since they incorporate CD function with SL-1200MKII capability and feel plus other editing features and tricks.
yup - i sure dont need those pro features --and that $$$ they cost --
but there should be some extra nice 'regular' CD players to go with our classic boxes --
have a few old sony metal ones --much less than $100

i have one of these technics cd decks and they are awesome, it has a 10 inch platter that you can scratch with like vinyl, aslo it has a whole host of other real good feature, i love it, mine cost me £580 GBP, worth every penny
These are awesome CD players. I had a pair of Denon DN-S3000 cd players. They could play MP3s and had a 7 inch spinning platter that allowed cueing and scratching like vinyl too. Still, as good as they were, I sold them after I got Rane Serato. Any DJing I do, is with records or Serato. I will never part with my Technics 1200s!
