I remember the time of the 80´s.
The hungarian revolution, the ending of the german democratic republic,....
In all this countries, electronics are not so easy avaiable like in the west.
So hundreds of cheap electronic stores opened, to sell (some scrappy) chinese and vietnamese electronics.
Blasters, walkmans, and many more.
Nearly all closed, when the great wave of people was over.
But a few survived.
Like my personal "grail shop", the "radio suppin". They sold higher quality electronics till today. In the 80´s i bought there my SANWA mono and the TOSHIBA doubledecker new.
Yesterday i took a trip with tramline 44 to take a few pics.
Optically nearly nothing changed since 30 years!
Need a nerd watch?
Have trouble with the choice.
In the 80´s some CASIO replicas were sold.
Only 50cent/each!!
Time changes, but blasters were sold.
Modern ones,of course:
Thats all? No!
Now they are repairing old boomboxes and electronics too. Spare parts (belts and so) were sold till today.
Short look inside.
The old PIONEER is for repair:
Some old electronics for repair/sell too:
So i hope this shop will survive and stay for a long time.
At saturday i have to go there.
They make a flea...
Great pics, thanks for the post. Too bad oldschool boomboxes didn't survive.
Today i was at the second "oldskool" shop, that survived in the 16.district.
The WOTEX-Electronics sells radios, watches and some other electronics till today.
The electronics changed, the shop not.
Yes, and the tram changed!
Before line "J" go there, now it is line "2".
(But the wagons are still of the 60´s)
Today, a rainy afternoon:
The WOTEX-logo fell down, when the owner changed in the late 90´s.
All kinds of electronics:
Watches are more expensive here, as the SUPPIN:
In the last time a few hundreds of cheap electronic shops have opened. Most are turkish. But the quality of them are so worse, awful...
But this needs an other story.
And i will watch out for some other old shops in vienna...
I remember stores like that!
now these days almost no stores like that are around
Yeah.... same her.
Stores like that were Sooooooooo cool!
