all these predictions about the end of the world are crazy,
when it does happen it will be lights out and that will be it.
war or a global economic crisis or any other disaster only means trouble for mankind,
baa humbug nuff said..mulled wine anyone?

According to mayan calendars they just tick over when the b'ak'tun is reached. When westerners got their hands on the information they "prohpecised" that this would happen. Net result? Don't believe westerners, especially certain ones

it all means the end of their calendar not the end of the world.
walkgirl - 2012-12-21 22:32
Could the Mayans actually read or is it they just found that calendar in the jungle somewhere?

not getting religious or anything here Reno but every bible prophecy has been fulfilled to date, the last one is the second coming of Christ.
the bible described the end of days before his return and conditions on the earth right now fit that prophecy to a T.
it does'nt take a genius to figure out we are living in perilous times right now.
just my little take on things, mans ignorance and greed has caused most of the bad things we see around us.
with this online technological world we now live in we are drifting ever further from our spiritual side and creating a huge divide between us and the bigger picture
bad things happen and people say there is no god, i say we all have free will and it's up to us how we use it.

Lav check out mithras on the net.....most of the christian ideas were stolen from there.....besides if christ were to come back mankind would only ridicule him and lock him up.....to be honest if i were jesus i wouldn't want to come back.....i don't think mankind has done anything to warrent saving.......i was actually hoping for the world to end on the 21 and for gods new system to kick in...but that will never happen my friend.....but your comment's are appreciated......i just wish he would hurry up and come back...because i genuinely feel there is nothing in this forsaken world for me my friend

religon is the biggest killer on the planet
very true Andy, religion should be a personal thing in my opinion.
there's been to many conflicts in the name of religion but yet again it's mans doing, nobody else is to blame

religions are all syncretistic, as they always cannibalize other religions & their sacred texts. churches, their strong arm, serve the power --see the coronation of the kings, and the like.
also, religions are transcendental, the world immanent. hence, their sense of an ending (armageddon).
last but not least, prophecies work like horoscopes: there will always be an event interpretable as their fulfillment, according to the "post hoc ergo propter hoc" argument --actually, a logical fallacy.
this said, the need for transcendence is so universal among human beings that the sense for the numinous is necessary and good. by the sense for the numinous i mean the religious inspiration. this is what i like in religion. when this inspiration gets organized and becomes doctrine, however, i begin to feel cold along my spine.
(please note that this post is only meant to express an opinion. i apologize in advance if, unintentionally, i hurt the feelings/beliefs of anybody)

Lover that, just the same way I think. I try to stay out of religion, it creates too much argument for nothing.
