if you ask me the royals being here in the UK or anywhere else should be long gone
they think their better than everyone else but the truth is their just talking monkeys like the rest of us what i mean to say is they evolved out of the same bubbling pond of s**t as the rest of humanity.
very old fashioned medieval crap that should of been abolished long ago

I was in Amsterdam on Queensday a few years ago and it was an absolute blast...the place was just one big party...bands on each street corner, beer everywhere, everyone dressed in orange and falling into the canal...brilliant fun it was

I'm not bothered about them either way. I just view the British royal family as a bit of a novelty act that draws in the tourists...if they bring in more in tourism than they cost us taxpayers then happy for them not to be guillotined in a revolution
I think, tho I might be wrong, that the Dutch love their royal family a bit more than we do these days...they certainly enjoyed drinking beer in tribute to them on Queensday lol

never even knew the dutch had a royal family Si? i thought ours was one of very few in the world and holland not being one of em.
probably due to the fact holland is not big news in this country

If we did not have an established Monarchy, our recent history would be littered with tales of rebellious groups that thought that they had some kind of right to lord it over everybody. Apart from that, heritage, tradition and respect are the vital ingredients that separate us from Americans and Australians. (No disrespect intended). Make no mistake; the rest of the world is jealous of our monarchy and those of other European countries steeped in tradition.
Besides anything else; we need a certain standard of 'talking monkey' to make us sound like we know what we are talking about, and to continue to command respect from the rest of the world.
Unless you were too drunk to notice, last year was a tremendous celebration that lifted most of the UK's spirits like never before. Our royal family has had it's troubles but is fighting fit and as relevant today as it has ever been, if not more so.
Any country that celebrates, commemorates or just enjoys it's Royalty is all right by me.

Ah well, I've been there a fair few times and have a few Dutch relatives as well so I've absorbed a little info about the place. Went to a very nice cheese factory one time lol
We probably ought to leave the relative merits or otherwise of the UK monarchy there though before it descends into a slanging match...some are pro monarchy, some are against...thats life

didn't expect much from the "open market" today. Many stayed inside and watched it on TV. But most people are aware they sell stuff at a higher price on the internet
