Redbenjoe gave me a woody!!!!!!

skippy1969 - 2008-12-29 15:09

Well sortoff..... Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud
I almost crapped myself today when Ira's famous "woody" battery door showed up at my house with postage due and a new top secret packing system.
What is the secret you say ??????????? Well... here it goes,NO frigging packing at all!!! NO box! NO padded comfy envelope! NADA,nothing zip!!! He sent it through the brutal U.S.P.S. just like you see it.
Ira's motto is; Packing,we don't need any stickin packing!!!!!!
They even stamped "postage due" right on the door itself!! And Ira was cool enough to split the postage costs with me,nice guy...... Roll Eyes
Thanks Ira,your a real gem........ Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

oldskool69 - 2008-12-29 16:32

Well Skip, you have a rare original that should fetch at least $399 on eBay as a BIN. Just be sure to include the termite bond with the buyer protection! Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

redbenjoe - 2008-12-29 16:39

well --here is 'the other side of the story' Smile

at the shameful and puny price --
skippy had offered for this custom "made with pride in the USA" product---

you can all understand why it did not warrant that much further investment in packing materials and $ freight Big Grin
-----------------------------

as far as the 'does it work' silly question --

well it mostly works -but just like with any other items made by and FOR trailer park guys --

it needs a few feet of ducK tape -
for the proper 'fit and finish' Laugh Out Loud

and perhaps a few nails to hold in the batteries !!

fatdog - 2008-12-29 18:47

Ahhh, the power of duct tape!

Here's a shot of Ira's dad getting the family station wagon ready for the vacation trip.

Says it can't be found! So, Santadog, get outta that chair (We know that's you in the avatar! Laugh Out Loud) and back to your day job and help me and Ramon here! Laugh Out Loud

Is the link busted? Confused

fatdog - 2008-12-30 07:06

All the help in the world won't work for you and Ramon. Unless, of course, it's the Vladi method of help - Glenlivet 18.

Just scroll back up to Spud's post with the picture... that's it. Wink

moncheeto - 2008-12-30 07:55

was he taking a leak before opening the door Laugh Out Loud

71spud - 2008-12-30 08:01

FYI the link did not work for me... to find it I had to do a Google image search on the last part of the link (past the AAAAA from Bs on through .jpg if you copy and past the entire link you see the critical part of the image name) Then it popped up. Of course it linked to a huge 1600x1200 picture if you clicked on it, but I did a "open image in new window" when the size of the pic on the screen was 640. Then I just copied that image address and posted it. I didn't have to resize or save it anywhere else.... Smile

But I did it on my MAC... your mileage may vary... Big Grin

Close, that is a International travelall the bigger version of the Scout.
Too bad too, they had a great engine and drivetrain. Tough as nails and run forever. Nod Yes

71spud - 2009-01-04 20:05

There was one year I believe you could get an International Scout with a completely galvanized body. I should check into that and see what year that was....

71spud - 2009-01-05 06:27

I found a reference to a "Coast Guard Prepared" International Scout that has an all-galvanized body.... but no other info yet...

redbenjoe - 2009-01-05 08:09

galvanized --doesnt even perform well in a salt air environment --
but SOME stainless and ALL aluminum lasts.

71spud - 2009-01-05 08:25

Yeah.... it was an unofficial reference, probably an assumption. There was someone around here that had one... low mileage... stored in a barn... My dad had talked to him about selling it, but the guy would not let it go... That was 20 years ago...

johnnygto - 2009-01-05 18:49

I finally read this (honestly the topic skeered me) Smile

I have been laughing my *** off!

That is very original Ira..

redbenjoe - 2009-01-05 19:13

oldskool69 - 2009-01-05 19:17

Skippy...did you stiff the post office? And if so, did you give your address as Boynton Beach so they would go postal on Ramon instead? Laugh Out Loud

Or did you square up with thirteen wooden nickels and two tin pennies? Laugh Out Loud
