"NEW COLORS" Most Beautiful 10 COLOR CHANGING WALKMAN WM-EX9

johnedward - 2010-12-13 17:48

I present to the World Walkman community my Sony WM-EX9 Chameleon color changing Walkman that came from China. I was very worried that I could trust post from China but seller packaged it best ever seen and came pretty quickly too. It was expensive to be sure but not too, especially for what it is and flawless condition. The Sony WM-EX9 is the LAST BEST of Sony Walkman that was MADE IN JAPAN in a AMAZING color changing very glossy paint. The color change is INTENSE and works in low lighting to bright sun. Lower levels of light the metallic flakes are very tiny where in very bright intense light the metallic flakes reflect a much larger size. I think the EX7 and EX9 are the best of last Sony Walkman with the EX20 ( sonically the EX20 highs I think are disappointing). The EX9 although not as HEAVY built/weight as the EX7 the EX9 produces a noticeable better high end ( not that the EX7 is lacking but it is not as good). The EX9's highs not as super crisp detailed as DC2 or DD9 but a superb performing player I think. This EX9 is so great sounding been listening to new favorite tape made on Suano Metal tape, incredible dynamic range and highs !! Of all my newer 90's and later players this now is my favorite to listen to, warm yet detailed, superb sound stage and depth with a bass boost tastefully done not over done like most all other Sony models.
OF NOTE : this player though rated at 5mw per channel most assuredly puts out much more. Unlike most of the newer players from many mfgs. rated at 5mw they just wont play very loud. THIS EX9 pushes any of my headphones very respectably LOUD !! Sony can be PROUD of this player not only sonically but cosmetically designed and appearance as one of their best efforts.
The following pictures were taken over many days under many kinds of lighting. To get these superb photo examples of this player I took over 300 photographs !!!
The EX9 has 4 main metallic colors Blue, Green, Purple and Brown bronze with fading colors at different angles you view surface sometimes one color sometimes two fading into each other. Enjoy the follow Kaleidoscope of color changes from

BLUE
BLUE/ GREEN
GREEN
BLUE / PURPLE
PURPLE
PURPLE/ MAUVE
PINK/ MAUVE
ORANGE/ RED
ORANGE
to finally GOLD/ BRONZE/ BROWN !
wow

GOD I LOVE THIS WALKMAN. It may become my favorite and its not just due to it being AWESOME good looking Big Grin

When I take it places and it sits on my lap so many people walk over and ask to see it and (GRIN Big Grin

) What IS IT? After they recover from shock that it is
a "CASSETTE" WALKMAN they say GASP jaw drop

Why don't they make puke

IPODS look like that.

In case anyone is wondering the photos you have seen are UNTOUCHED. No photoshop , no color saturation, contrast or brightness adjusted for ANY OF THE PHOTOS. WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT THE CAMERA TOOK. YES IT "REALLY" DOES LOOK LIKE THE PICTURES !!!

Guess I have single handed increased the world market value of this model color now and in future GREATLY UPWARDS due to some of you saying " I HAVE TO HAVE ONE ".

Glad I have two in this color. One Mint and one for daily use.

You must admit it truly must be THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WALKMAN EVER MADE or at least one of the Most Beautiful. A TRUE FLAWLESS GEM amongst my Collection.

Hello JohnEdward,
I want you my warmest and sincere congratulations for your collection and your passion. Whenever I have some time to come on the forum I always dwell on your actions and your beautiful photos. I find very interesting. Are you really prepared! Can I ask how old are you? Smile

johnedward - 2010-12-16 15:20

Hello Doctor Walkman Big Grin
Thank you kindly for your wonderful compliments. I do truly have a passion for these machines and listen to them daily. (Right now listening to my DC2 with Sony MDR-V6 first issue Japan made not later china made).
Certainly you may ask how old I do not mind.
I am 53 years young. Recent picture am very gentle heart man but the mirrored glasses make
me very tough looking.
Doctor what country do you live in and primary language?

dottor.walkman - 2010-12-17 17:59

Hey John, great Walkman. The changes in color look awesome. You're lucky to have a boxed one as well as one to use whenever. It looks like the finish could be damaged if not looked after properly Red Face.

Cheers,

I am adding several new shades of color that I stumbled on last week. I have two Sony WM-EX9 players in the Chameleon changing color.  One is MINT and other is beat up my daily player but both work perfectly.  Had them out on my kitchen counter where the evening sun comes in window.  As I walked by the bright sun coming in at a steep angle was causing some wonderful colors to show.  I ran for my camera to catch the awesome sight.

Have now learned that with sunlight ( causes the strongest metallic to show) coming onto player at angles of less than 35 degrees and viewed from the opposite side as sun coming onto player gives entrance to the more rare colors to see.  Blue and Purple are main colors when viewed directly from straight on to about 45 degrees.  The colors starting with the sun and my camera almost looking sideways onto player are :

Forest GREEN metallic into

BROWN into

BRONZE into

Vibrant ORANGE into

ORANGE/RED into

MAUVE into

LAVENDER into

Vibrant Purple

PLEASE note no photo shop, no saturation or any changes to pictures digitally were done.  These pictures are exactly what camera saw and my eye.  ENJOY THIS MOST INCREDIBLE COLORFUL WALKMAN EVER MADE !!!!
