Rechargeable batteries

Just wondering if any of you guys run Re-Chargeable Batteries (RCB's) in your BBX's ? Summer is rolling up and we take our boxes out with us so I think it's time for RCB's. I've checked the price in a few spots locally and have found them to be pretty expensive. It was like $16 USD's for 2 D's and $29 USD's for the charging unit. All things said and done it would run like $130 USD's for the lot (10 D's + charger)The low side was like $10 USD's for 2 D's and $25 for the charger so like $80 USD's after tax. Well it didn't sound like a great deal to me so I held off and wanted to check on line. The first place I looked was on eBay found what seems to be a heck of a deal.

There's a guy selling 8 Energizer brand D's with a charger and they seem to be going for around $30/$35 USD's after shipping. He has a low feedback and I was just wondering if it was one of those deals that was too good to be true or if they seem stolen to you guys ? Just wanted to see if any of you had a hot tip on where to get some legit RCB's and or if you've dealt with said seller. Maybe there out dated ? It just seems really cheap and his feedback is stacked with these things. Maybe I'll chance it ? LMK what you guys think ?

There have been a few threads on this topic recently, if you do a search you'll find them.
One thing to be very aware of is the mah rating which on some D cells is around 2500 mah, this is no good since this is the same energy as a good AA battery. Make sure you get D cells with at least an 8000 mah rating and even up to 11,000 mah if you can find them at a reasonable price. You should be able to find a good set with charger for under $100.

I would prefer cells from Sanyo or other brands like Panasonic, Energizer or Duracell.
Sanyo's are the best, they could have a lifetime up to 20 years with more then 1000 cycles and the self-discharge rate is low.

Those cheap high cap-types from the unknown brands could be very worse: often they are totally discharged after 1 month in store, they are fast destroyed by overcharging in a standart charger, the ratet cap is often exegerated.
In my opinion a 5000mAh type from Sanyo is the better choise then a noname 11000mAh cell.

I often use C size types in plastic tubes, I can fit 10 cells in a compartment, which is designed for 8 D types. So you have 12 Volts with rechargeable batteries!!!
