Boombox paint jobs...

Have any of you ever repainted a box using automotive metallic paint and clear coat?

I have seen home speakers painted that way and they look absolutely stunning.

I was thinking that, with the right box, this could be very cool if done well.

yes i sprayed the top of my pioneer 909 as it was a mess, went to halfords (automotive store) and matched the colour (buy just spraying it onto the top) got a perfect match. also done 3 sets of speaker grills.
