Panasonic RX-5050 question

matrixambience - 2009-01-12 15:11

I have a Panasonic RX-5050 that just recently while playing a cassette, it stopped after it was at the end (auto-stop), so I ejected the tape and it stuck in the door and I couldn't pull the tape out. I discovered later that the left side take-up reel spool came off the shaft and the little "c" clip was missing. Question is...how do you put one of those little clips back on the spindle? Where do find one of these small clips? Please help! Thanks!

I just put some sticky stuff like glue stik on the end of my finger so it will adhere to my finger just enough to stick it on ,the just slid the clip on the shaft. Wink
I guess you will just need to look for a replacement on some parts units,as I don't know who would have them. Frown

I found a spare tape deck from a Panasonic RX-5080, and I took off that little clip on one of the tape reels and snapped it on the 5050 deck. Works great! They are a major pain to put on though....you have to be careful.

I bought some mechas (generic) because they come with motors. But then, I discovered they are an useful source of spares.
You can make a C using a wire o X-Ray film
The last works perfec. You cut a circle and make a hole (a little than the shaft diameter)
