Sharp ALPD - how it works?

viennasound - 2008-08-25 11:03

A question to the specialists! Big Grin

I bought a SHARP GF-555 in good condition at the fleamarket. This box has a "AutoLocatePlayDevice" System!
What is it for?
The function is only for one Tapedeck.
There are 2 optional ALPD buttons, 2 LED´s for th e tapedirection and 11 softtouchbuttons with LED´s (like Radiostation-Buttons).
I´ve never seen this system at other boxes.

Can anybody tell me the function?

The APLD is used much like a chapter search on a DVD. It only works on cassettes when there are blank spaces between the tracks, usually 2 to 3 seconds. While the cassette is playing, press either the FF or REW button to activate APLD. The small silver buttons on the right of the GF-555 are the indices. Press the number 3 button if you want to skip ahead 3 tracks. Likewise for the other numbers.
