Hello all, I have a Jvc rc m80 with synthesizer tuner, Its a mint machine the problem is it has memory preset number 6 on all the time, if you go on manual tuner it works but after about 20 seconds preset number 6 cuts in, previously I pulled the unit apart and removed the micro switch behind number 6 button, so its not a sticky switch any ideas? cheers, paul.

I wouldn't tackle anything on that tuner without a service manual--too complicated.

My guess is somehow the IC chip that "reads" the pushbuttons is getting a clock (oscillator) signal that makes the chip think button six was pushed.

When did these problems begin? Recently? Years ago?

...and is there any way you can have the M80 memorize an actual station on #6, so at least you have something to listen to?
