Sanyo 9880 mic inputs...

My Sanyo 9880K doesn't have line inputs. There are left and right ext mic. input on the back side of the boombox. These will produce sound from the speakers if feed my Ipods line level signal into them and press play on the tape deck. The resulting sound is very quiet,"tinny" and compressed sounding with no dynamics. What could be causing this?I am wanting to get high quality sound as you would from a line-in.

Curiously if I connect my Ipod to the "Ext. Speaker (min. 4ohm)" outputs on the boxes side I get full range dynamics and good sound Confused .However the boomboxes volume control has no effect (obviously) when I try this.Even if I turn my Ipods volume control to maximum it just isn't loud enough to satisfy me.If I can't correct the mic. input problem, might it be possible to use these speaker outputs as a line-in with good sensitivity?

jovie that the first time i head of that except
that my sanyo 9975 has line in but and you have to have the radio in record,, now using the outputs for speakers i would think that something will go wrong.you have some voltage going on so i would not use the speaker outs for that the mic input you probably could use but like my 9975 you have to put it to record and monitor the mic inputs try it see if it works each box is diffrent...........
