Lasonic 935 or any with autoreverse

kittmaster - 2008-06-10 12:18

I have a 935 I'm looking at and got it almost back to order except for one issue with the left deck that is autoreverse. For some reason the deck does not want to stay engauge when play is pressed, but the other buttons do engauge for FF/REW. If I hold the play down it does play and the auto reverse feature does work, but it just doesn't stay "locked" in the play position.

Anyone see this behavior before? This is one of the last steps to finish the decks for this box.

Thanks

If the deck is mechanical, the thing I'd check for is a missing spring that keeps the play arm hooked. Just a thought...

I would hazard a guess that it is either a plastic or metal swing arm that should rotate in to a locking postion. The stop button would release it from the locking mech allowing the head assembly to fall in place and stop/release the cassette. I would start with the stop button and work back to the play button. That too! I Agree

well there is a slide lever that is in motion, but you can't see it the locking mech because its completely "covered" and without dismantling the whole thing.....yuck.

I don't see any springs that are out of place by the slide profile which makes this even more a pita. Hmm....hopefully it will be an easy fix....it was getting late when I got to that point.
