Pioneer sk-31 huge tape player problem

colin.lay - 2012-01-02 14:27

I can't even begin to describe how messed up this thing is in words, so I made this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnlc1QvbKBM&list=UUxD2_1GPMHAIoccB23l7v_g&index=1&feature=plcp

Any suggestions?

Hi I know this is an old post..first, the deck door can be removed from the front of the unit, and snaps back in from the outside. The play button is solenoid controlled. You press your finger gently and it pops into play mode on its own, no force required. It will only work with power to the box. Last, the deck is easily accessible. If you look around the bottom of the circuit boards you will see several screws, i believe 5. There is one screw near the line in out rca jacks, and 2 long ones in the main circuit board. Remove these and the entire apparatus removes to access the deck, Just fixed one yesterday so thought I would post some info for members here..

Hope this helps someone..FYI the decks are very VERY finicky everything has to be just so..
