radio.raheem - 2012-06-30 14:28

What pinch rollers can i use chris.....i have some of a dt680...Any good....i think the belt is ok but not sure....rew ff is fine......is the kaboom easy to strip down??? did one yrs ago but i can't remember....and this is a different model....mn dp200

deliverance - 2012-06-30 14:43

reno i bought the rollers from jvc after trying ones i had knocking about no joy , if its the same layout as the b90 ends off, then woofers , 8/9 screws in the back then it splits in half no wires to unplug (bar the end woofers) case then splits in half , deck is held in with 4 screws undo them deck comes away be careful with the ribbons few screws on the back of deck there you go one belt, just to change the rollers you dont need to unscrew deck . they are a bit fiddly because of the auto reverse .

radio.raheem - 2012-06-30 14:55

that sounds familiar dell....only diff there are some screws on the top of this unit...i think it is the rollers dell.....wonder if i soak them in boiling water...will help....read that somewhere......the deck is like brand new but the rubber must be rock hard.....update in a few hours....first allen keys.....has to be done it's driving me bonkers lad

deliverance - 2012-06-30 15:10

i have with some boiling water and washing up liquid , and/or wet and dry but if they are to hard forget it.

radio.raheem - 2012-06-30 15:54

radio.raheem - 2012-07-01 12:38

Well couldn't get the rollers of...ain't got a clue......managed to soak them in boiling water and fairy(don't ask how) it's just made things worse.....gunna get that rubber rejuvinator and try some wet and dry.....must say though the rollers look like brand new(they did in the first place) problem is their far to smooth and the capstan bar can't grip them

one thing i like about this kaboom (dp200) you can work on the deck(play etc) while it's in half....using headphones....unlike the others

radio.raheem - 2012-07-02 23:24

Well...i have some good news guys....the more and more i use the deck...the better it's getting....it's playing most tapes normal now....god i love this thing...people have heard it compared to other kaboom's...and m90's the like....im sad in a way to say this,i know the m90 and radios like it are LEGENDARY...but there is simply no comparo.......this thing murders anything i have had...im TOTALLY in love with it....im actually thinking of putting better woofers and subs in her...not that she needs it

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 04:49

Well that rubber rejuvinator was a waist of time.....what sandpaper can i try on the rollers???

litfan - 2012-07-07 09:58

You want, the finest grade you can get lad. No rough stuff, cos i know, you like it rough .

litfan - 2012-07-07 09:59

Havent you got any isopropyl handy? You should alway`s have some, and, some cotton buds.

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 13:45

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 14:33

was gunna order a dozen lad......but they can bugger off.....i may have another one of these kabooms on the way......speaking first hand chris.....get one of these....forget your m90

litfan - 2012-07-07 14:44

Everyone that i know, that`s heard the kaboom, thinks, it sounds amazing on cd, but absolutely crap on tape. I have to agree.

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 14:51

all kabooms sound crap on tape rich....but NOT this one.....the one with the drumpads is the one to get....separate bass treble....and cd speed control....if i get this working...i wouldn't trade it for an m90 lad.....can't even remember the model no it's that good

litfan - 2012-07-07 14:56

I`d have to hear one myself lad, to believe it. If it sounds better than my sony cfs-f40, might be good. Can`t see it though?

deliverance - 2012-07-07 15:03

the aiwa ca-100 surprised me it can half rock , and for the size sanyo c7 can to

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 15:05

the thing that killed all other kabooms rich(you know i have had them all)was that shit acs....It's not on this kaboom....it would eat your sony for everything it's worth.....it doesn't have the acs which was TOTAL shit....and it has 2 bass control's......im happy if i never see another boombox....everybody who has heard it thought my m90 was shit compared to it,,,,,but im lucky...i still have my 970 which is every bit as good as the m90...but when they have heard the kaboom.....they think the crown sounds rubbish lad...and i agree...no match for this kaboom

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 15:15

i have a modded c9...it's not bad but i hardly use it lad

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 18:23

well touch wood it looks like she is fixed.....you need to spend about 2 hrs sanding on each roller to dispose of the hard stuff....it's playing again....i can't understand it though...this kaboom may be 10 yrs old but she had never been used...anyway gunna order some new rollers as soon as i acquire the funds

just remember all my opinions in this thread about m90's and the like are my own and not meant to offend...but as i have stated...i wouldn't trade one for this kaboom when working...no chance peace to all and thanks for your help guys

radio.raheem - 2012-07-07 21:56

Well i was putting it back together...and somehow broke the swivel head...so that's the end of thatlitrally
