Sharp GF-666 - Not powering up

uncle.les - 2012-07-17 04:30

Hi All

Just picked up a 666 from ebay, good seller with solid feedback. According to him it was all fine but it has arrived and though I can hear transformer hum on plugging in there are no light or power signs. Tried the power stich just for fun and still nothing. Any ideas?

Cheers

Les

try the glass fuse  (after the transformer  in circuit)  if it has one

Hi Dave

I will take a look, I seem to remember this sort of thing on other bits of 80s kit so I wll break out the trusty philips driver

Just checked the PSU fuse and it looks okay (cant find my meter any place) so looks as if its pointing to the switch being the culprit

Is it set to the correct voltage?

It is indeed, I am going to dig through to see if I cazn find a 15v adapter and try that. See if I cant cross some things off the list. Anyone know where I can get another power switch or can I repair it?
