Sharp GF 575 - left speaker problem

tomisha - 2013-07-26 10:39

The left speaker on my 575 ain't working properly; you can hear it vibrating over the music. Plus the small amount of music that does come out of it is poorly distorted. I have taken it apart and everything looks OK to me but I'm no expert.

Can anyone help? I want to get out in the garden and listen to my new toy whilst it's still nice...

have you cleaned all the switches and record bar with switch cleaner ?    also is this only when you use a line in ?

Hi deliverance, cheers for the reply. I think Arron cleaned it all up before he sent it to me, there still seems to be remnants of the cleaner fluid. The problem happens when using the radio, tape deck and line in (all methods). I thought it might have been because the speaker was loose but that doesn't seem to be the case. Can post pictures of its innards of that'll help? The woofers are opposite ways round to each other but that's the way they're meant to be I think (from looking at Google images anyway)

I never used any switch cleaner atall when I opened it up Tom, all I did was clean out the dust from the woofs and close her back up. I'm sure you'll get it sorted with the help of the tech guys like Deliverance best of luck mate

Clean function switch real good. Also check with headphones. The headphone jack could also be dirty and not making good contact

Cheers for the help guys, it was indeed the function switch that needed cleaning - just switching it up and down a few times helped! Problem solved
