Yes i've wanted one of these since the dinosors ruled the earth,i was desperate for one, bought this, seller was a bit vague on his description, messaged him for more details, all he said that it was a nice radio with "a couple" of issues Bullsh*t..it looks ok but its a heap !! ive messaged the seller wanting some answers but he has'nt replied !!

lav.loo - 2010-12-24 12:04

that's a damn shame G,MAN Nod Yes the 975 is the best looking black box ever made in my opinion, iv'e always wanted one too but as you know, their not easy to come by, hope you get something sorted Wink

I'm sure barnsleyboombox would put it right if there were issues, drop him a message.

im.out.of.hear - 2010-12-24 12:17

I did'nt buy it from him doc,got it from usa..
i just copied this from a thread i just posted in chat..

it arrived damaged..mains transformer smashed out of its base, but it cant hit the circuit boards, they are too far away,i got it powered up on 12v,Power button does'nt work,i have to press play on cassette to get it working,Tape A plays, can here music but with a severe loud russle noise,Tape B,no music at all with a loud rustle noise, volume is static, crackly, one channel cuts out,the graphic does'nt work, sliders dont do anything at all when i adjust them, the ariels are not origonal, they are too long, the handle wont go down because the ariels are in the way..i can understand the smashed transformer must have been done in post, but i'm convinced that all the rest of the faults were already like that before it was sent, all the guy is saying is send it back to usa, that will cost me a fortune,i'de say approx £80-£100..pay all that extra money out just to get a refund..

Oh and it was wrapped in one piece of bubble wrap,in a flimbsy tatty cardboard box..

lav.loo - 2010-12-24 13:16

looks like you've been had over G,MAN Nod Yes Wink

docs - 2010-12-24 13:24

Ah yeh my bad it was the J1 wsant it ?

Anyways, bad luck on that one, looks like transporting those around is not a good idea since the tranny is probably mounted on flimsy posts like some of those style boomers. Bad luck Frown. best sending it back in my opinion.

im.out.of.hear - 2010-12-24 15:06

i think i've kinda had enough of ebay for a while,i think i've got all the boxes i want now, cant really think of any other box i want..but i'm not leaving this thats for sure, that seller must have known that the box has got lottts of issues with it,there is no way all that could have happened from shipping,no way ! and it was up to him to list all the faults and let me deside wether i wanted to buy it or not,he did'nt list any of the problems so he is in the wrong..i'm not sending it back at my expense just reciev a refund,i'de have no box,a would have a refund but minus £80-£100 for shipping charges..

baddboybill - 2010-12-24 20:24

wow that does s-ck wtfThe trc 975 is a very cool bbx, I have had mine since new Big Grin Hope you get things fixed Wink

reli - 2010-12-25 00:05

That is too bad.......Still very nice cosmetically. If you can get a refund, it would be worth displaying even if you can't fix it.

im.out.of.hear - 2010-12-26 16:14

hello reli, nope,no refund,i opened a dispute, the seller responded, ebay messaged me and said the seller has offered a refund, but i will have to send it back under my expense, would cost me minimum £80,which i wont get back..i thought i had 10 days, but i've actually got 7 days to ship it back and provide tracking..so i've had it man..i'm stuck with it,and lose either way,but i am convinced the seller knew it was riddled with serious faults, way more than he led me to beleive, there is absolutely nothing working on it !!
volume-cronic static,
right channel-cutting out,
decks-not working,
on/off button-not working,
graphic equalizer-not working,
ariels-not origonal,
one ariel bases-not matching,

Its a Mess Mate !!

I feel your pain......I recieved what would have been a nice Crown 980 from Germany that was packed loosely enough to allow the box to move around freely, allowing the shoulder loops to get hit and crack the case. This from a guy who has been selling 7-8 boxes a week for the past 2-3 years at least. Roll Eyes Then I received another one that the customs dept. had opened for "inspection" and they had unscrewed everything in order to verify that it was a radio.....The transformer was left rattling around inside, hitting and busting a circuit board. Idiots. Well at least you will have the satisfaction of giving him a negative.
