I like where you're going so far Floyd Wink

Those drivers look excellent and the radio placement is great!!!
Not to sure what to think of the mirrored panel tho.

jvc.floyd - 2008-08-17 19:29

i'm going to paint parts of it and leave some sections exposed around the l e d lights i'm putting on the mirrored area.

Wow! Looks quite promising! I like it.

What battery setup will you have?

jaredscottfla - 2008-08-18 00:03

Smile I know this is BBX HERACY,but i'm not a giant fan of the 777...SAY WHAT! Eek Wink(mainly because of the ridiculuos prices they always seem to fetch.... Razz)
I like what you've done Floyd, looks very promising,Good luck with the resto Job, Cool

i found a huge sheet of mirrored plexi glass not that i love the mirrored look but it was an easy material to use ,i have to break up all that shine some how lol.i was thinking a 80's grid pattern design and some minor graphics to fill in that area ,no battery power yet i have them just havent got that far yet most likely 2 14 volt dewalt batteries.this box was the most busted up hunk of crap you can imagine ,i had to modify a handle for it make the antenna bases from scratch i mean it was nothing but bits and pieces.

I'm interested to see what comes of this! I really like '80s grid designs. Cool

That looks sweet so far Floyd !

Maybe consider having a sign shop print you a homemade face panel to lay over the mirror ? You could expose sections where the LED's are located ? They could probably even print you the gridlines and whatever writing you would want ?

Anyway that looks killer and I can't wait to see it all buttoned up

So you're saying I can comb my hair and see how it looks AND listen to music? Man,I'm sold!

Thats a gorgeous job,man!

peter.griffin - 2008-08-19 05:40

I like itSmile

So are you running all the speakers off the head unit?

How are you powering the head unit?

jvc.floyd - 2008-08-19 05:58

yes ,the pioneer head unit has a mosfet amplifier thats rated at 45 watts rms per channel so that equals 180 watts rms all day long with no fatigue plus it has high and low pass crossovers ,this pioneer dehp 7200 has an organic el display and it sounds superb and really can put the power ,i'm running it off of a house amp power supply /transformer at the moment.

daiwa - 2008-08-19 06:38

Mosfet (metal–oxide–semiconductor field-effect transistor) AmP!-age, Floyd, that thing rocks, or at least, one day, WILL ROCK! Any lights, diodes, or even an EQ would reflect off that mirrored surface, it might look really great, especially at night! Wonder what NED thinks... Cool

(yo, hows it going there Carvin!?)
