MY aiwas

redbenjoe - 2008-12-06 13:51

thanking skippy as he was directly responsible for 50% of my aiwa collection Smile
and members driptip and erniejade took care or the balance--

please now - refer to 'the marantz family' shot :
look how it really is a carefully designed group -

as opposed to these aiwas -
dont get me wrong -- they are ALL great == love em --
but they must have been drawn up by newbees who never even knew each other !! Big Grin
so we cant get a decent looking 'family' picture
of a set of random designs--

----------------------

also - note this shot of my ca-70 --
NO HANDLE !! for 4 (FOUR) months Frown

however - we have been advised by several tech folks here --
if the mini were welded to the top of the ca-70
BOINK -- there's the handle Laugh Out Loud

Ira...fantasic family shot! Now the fact that they look lke a dysfnctional family, which we know is not true, is another matter. Let's just say...helter skelter...like yourself! Laugh Out Loud

vladi123456 - 2008-12-06 14:46

Interesting how Aiwa 950 is close in size to 880 - I always thought 880 would be a lot bigger

redbenjoe - 2008-12-06 14:54

vladi - i think they both have the same speakers --
but the 880 has that 'radiator trick' --so that magnifies the bass output

but -- the radiator thing --is nothing at all like the actual working , variable control sub-woofer on your big ben

skippy1969 - 2008-12-06 17:51

Very nice Aiwas Ira!!!!!!
That TPR 950 needs to be at my house someday! Laugh Out Loud

redbenjoe - 2008-12-06 18:17

skippy -- that aiwa 950 series is not so rare --should be one of your quickest searches so far -

and you WILL like it --got a very detailed sound.

skippy1969 - 2008-12-06 18:25

I know they are not rare, but neither are M90's
I can't seem to wrangle one of those either.....

master.z - 2008-12-06 18:34

Man, those boxes have NO resemblance to each other whatsoever, but they each have great asthetics, no doubt! Chalk it up to great design at the Aiwa camp.
I need to get me one of them! Cool

skippy1969 - 2008-12-08 16:12

That Bilevel CS350/CA70 is very unique Ira........ Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

redbenjoe - 2008-12-08 16:17

well - at least those 2 look like a distant related family --
the others are off-the-wall orphans Smile

what do you think of my welding plan ??
in case i NEVER get a handle Frown Big Grin

panasonic.fan - 2008-12-08 16:39

Ira, I mailed that out right after you sent me your address. You didn't get it?

redbenjoe - 2008-12-08 16:43

bill -- it must be lost forever Frown Frown
never got it -- plus -- i liked that one MUCH better than the original !!

panasonic.fan - 2008-12-08 16:46

Jesus H.....

Ok, let me check one more place for one. Not sure if the handle would be gray or red, but I just might have access to another freebie.

This one will have to go registered though. After all the delay to get it to you, for it not to get to you is very upsetting.

redbenjoe - 2008-12-08 17:02

colors dont matter with me Smile -- thanks AGAIN bill --

ghettoboom777 - 2008-12-08 18:35
