that looks like it must have been made by sanyo i am thinking. maybe not but there is something about it that has styling cues from sanyo. it is a very interesting boombox. how does it sound compared to like a m9998k. it is very nice ira.

as for the spectacular 9998 --well the 9996 is 3 inches smaller -- but it sounds so friggen great --

yeah the m9998k is still a really wonderful boombox for me. the sound is just coloured in such a warm and nice way. the pioneer i got recently is kind of similiar in terms of the philosophy behind its sound. i really like the way the early hi end boomboxes sound. this one you have pictured here looks like a very nicely made machine.

well the rainman boys sure found the $$ ticket in vegas -- try it bill

and yup -- this seimens thing is ultra heavy and built as well as a box can be.

as for the 9998 --thats HALLOWED GROUND !!

indeed. i think that there is lots of boomboxes wich dont get enough cred and that era of sanyo is a hugely underated product line. lets hope it kinda stays like that so they can still be had for reasonable prices. i love the looks of them too.
