My Small Collection

Here is my small collection of boxes.

Of course the Lasonic i931x. Everyone here knows about this one. It's here in the kitchen while I'm typing away on my tablet. I'm playing using the SD Card

The Home Accents box is amazingly packed with features for a modern box. Haven't seen another one like it. It was on a display several years ago at the mall in Belk. I purchased it because I knew it was a rare breed. It runs on 10 D Batteries and was made in 2004. It features a color LCD, built in TV Tuner, AM/FM Stereo and DVD/CD player. It will play MP3s on CD and DVD and of course plays CD's. It will also play SVCD's and will display Jpeg pictures on disc as well as play AVI, Mpeg etc. It has DTS digital surround out, S-Video, AV in and out, Sub Woofer out and 2 headphone jacks. When its plugged in if you have rechargeable batteries you can press a switch to charge them. Very Cool Find. It came with a AC and Cigarette Lighter power Cord and Remote. This is so rare it doesn't even have a model number. A once in a lifetime find for me I'm guessing.

Curtis Mathes. Hmmm. Didn't know they made a portable box but here it is. Made in 1987 and a very reliable box. The only bad thing about this one is its a chore replacing the belt. Works great and I like the Feather Touch controls. Aux Inputs are on back.

And my Favorite box....the GE. I love the Music Location System and Feather Touch controls. Best sounding and looking one I own. AM/FM banner is back-lit. This Portable was made in 1982 during the peak of the era.

 GE

Nice collection Transistorized!

Does the Lasonic accomodate both the ipod touch and the iphone? I've seen these before but never thought about the touch vs. phone size..

According to the manual it will for audio for all ipods using standard connection. It talks about ipod Touch and iphone in the manual for audio playback. I have the ipod nano (older version) and it works well but you can't navigate through the folders using the remote. I can only advance to the next song within a folder. The SD card you can fully program which song to play in the order you want.

The video out feature only works with ipods with color display and ipod photo (5th generation). Video out will not work with ipod touch, classic, iphone, shuffle and Nano (3rd Generation).
