My 925 Sterling Silver Boombox pendant charm

A lot like everyone on this site, I have a love for 80's technology, boomboxes and the Sony Walkman. Growing up as a teenager in Bay Ridge Brooklyn New York, U.S.A. during the 1980's every cool kid had a boombox. Each kid out did the next kid with a bigger, louder radio. Finally, I got one. It was a cheap end Hitachi TRK-7011E. I had the LaSonic, and a few others, while this one kid had a killer JVC.

Today I try to collect the things I once had either thru Ebay or yard sales to find these replacement boomboxes and Walkman's. Today as a DJ and vocalist in dance music, I still enjoy these relics of the late 20th century. I have a Sanyo M9935K, Fisher PH-W407L, two JVC Kaboom's a few others and a few vintage Walkman's such as Sony WA-33 which is my favourite.

Honestly I can say that my most favourite Boombox of all is NON Functional. I bought it in a Religious Jewish Neighbourhood. It was made special by a jeweler Rabbi at my request. A Boombox made of solid 925 Sterling Silver with a retractable handle. I have never seen another around anyone's neck, and I feel it's a special piece that plainly explains who I am, where I come from and where in time my mind is at. The great 1980's.

I figured I'd share the story and pictures of it. I hope you find it interesting. Thank you for taking the time to read and view my photos. Joey "Binky"

I see that little boombox around your neck and absolutely love it. It's an amazing piece of artwork and hard to believe that the handle actually moves

Thanks neighbour  , I always will love the 80's. I wish so bad that I can go back. I still have a couple left over that I either bought at Kings Plaza or Cesars Bay. Fun days.

My camera stinks. that's the only issue, or you'd really be able to see the detail. I was disappointed when I saw how much detail was lost in these photos. Thank you for posting
