Agreed.I thought I would post it under "Portable Stereos of today and tomorrow" since it's not a boombox.Actually I really never thought a higher end company like B&w would entertain the idea of compressed file mp3 music reproduction.

Heard this one at the Apple store in Bluewater a while back.
It was the most expensive iPod dock in the shop at the time, & at around £400 a go it was selling well. That sort of money buys a pretty decent budget seperates hifi setup (like this TEAC receiver & these Mordaunt Short floorstanding speakers, with money left over for a nice iPod dock), which would surely sound better, but wouldn't look as cool.
It did sound very nice, though, plenty good enough for most.

I wonder how many they're selling now the credit-crunch continues to bite Wink

I'll bet a head-to-head with this thing & a cobra-top Panasonic would be a close-run thing...

billpc55 - 2009-03-04 21:37

not my thing.

Had another play with it in the Apple store this w/e.

Plenty of newer stuff out from JBL, Logitech, etc., but none of the 1pc units were sounding as good.

However, the Bose "COMPANION 5" sub-satellite system was around £100 cheaper & did sound better.
Even that is overpriced, IMHO.
