Hehe, Big Grin

That was my first radio (showing my age). Long gone unfortunately. From what I remember the buttons on top where kind of wobbly. Bit of strange one all round. Nice to see a pic of one after all these years. (I even "Google Imaged" "Teleton" to try and find the model number a while back, but couldn't find one.

I think I may have ditched the tapes I made on it by now! Nice to have a pic. I may be wrong about this but I think mine was bought from the Co-Op (department store that used to sell cheap electrical's). Recollecting from the tapes I made this must be from about 1981 ? I remember Meat Loaf's Dead Ringer was a current fav at the time!

viennasound - 2009-02-13 23:48

@phil: If you were really interested to get your first box back, let me know. Wink
This one is standing in the working area of our railroad company. I could change it to an other one without problems. The owner is a good friend of me. Smile

Hi ViennaSound,

Thanks for the very generous offer, but I think I will decline, strange styling apart, this wasn't a brilliant box for me and soon got supplanted by a JVC RC-40.

Thanks for the thought though Smile

@phil: No problem, it was only a question. Wink
My first box was an also tiny looking PHILIPS 170, bad quality - and i was happy to find it at flea. Razz

about the bike: I bought it for a good friend as birthday present. He is a bikerfan. If it was a scooter i would behold it. Big Grin
Nice: Turning on the radio, the turners glow. When stereo receiption the headlight comes.. Laugh Out Loud

Today was bad weather - no flea.
But here a pic of the dead CARINA before wrecking:

oh, you're unearthing so many old Philips boomboxes (some that I already have Smile), you're bound to discover the one I'm searching for soon.
I know I've said it before, but if you find this one:

Here is new ad from yesterday flea:

This TEC 4040 -same like Roman find- I got it for 10 euros. Missing a couple of switches and antenna but I like that appearance very much. It's need detail cleaning and repairing.

This little Ei RK155M I'm sure is not in the base.

Unfortunately no sticker on the back side.

And in the end: Huge boombox Tristar RR5665

In the few couple of months will follow a spring big house cleaning which is practice many people here, and I expect a lot of new finds on flea.

Cheers

viennasound - 2009-02-18 08:17

Hey, wow! Razz
Congrats, toni, perfect finds.
You will see (hear), the TEC sounds much better than the small speakers looks like.
I hope you find or can make new caps for the switches.

The baby is also lovely.

And the big one is a hammer. Smile

I don´t know what people do with it?

Hi all,

Тhe day before yesterday I was visiting some marketplace on open in nearness and i find on one workbench nice old Aciko ACR 104S (the sales man was listening a radio on him).
Unfortunately in that moment I was without a camera.
So, after that, because I can't find in the forum any information about Aciko boxes in consultation with Jens we find out that this model is not in the base.
I make some pics yesterday, its stereo box and look how its remind on jvc m70 in front view:

Done! Big Grin

Today at the Caritas flea.
First a short look over the "electronic storage".
No, it´s not a dump! It´s a flea! Eek

Most of this trash won´t find a new home and end on the dump...

A few speakers of destructed boxes around.
Hard to find some interesting in this trashheep

Looks like an old dictaphone, or? Confused

Old flat radiorecorder, very destructed.
Ever seen a YASHUDA? Confused

Finally i found a little PHILIPS compactline crying for help. So it came with me... Wink

Sorry the bad pics, this hall is very dark inside.

viennasound - 2009-02-28 04:38

Today it was sunny, so maaaaany people at flea.
I was full of good hope to take some interesting pics.

So i took the first pic, of this tiny PHILIPS:

And then i became a big "problem".
The problem is called STARLINE... Eek

You can imagine, carrying this monster and photographing would be a problem.
After adding 2 other boxes too. Leaving
Good luck, that my friend Patrick was with me.
So he became something to do... Big Grin

Big Grin Wink I Agree

It was a hard discussion with the dealer.
He was a littlebit crazy with the price.
After half an hour (!) and help from my friend i could dump the price to 40euros. Ok, it´s much, but i was crazy about this box. Roll Eyes
A few little damages, but no missing knob.
And after a big clean up at afternoon, the radiopart is working.
More about it soon. Wink

And there is somehing new at the big flea.
At one point you have a powerconnect now to test the electronics. Each test - 50cent. But it´s worth, instead buying a wreck.
