Turntable Boomboxes?

newjackrichie - 2009-08-05 22:35

I have been looking for one of these for a while now. I am hoping to find one in the wild but no luck.

What is a cheaper model of these? Maybe I can find someone here with one or ebay.

Peace.

Best known are the SHARP VZ series... Roll Eyes

Hi NJR,
The Sharp VZ series is probably best option, but it's very difficult to find unit from that series with low price. VZ example

Also good option may be some model of Panasonic SGJ turntable boomboxes: SGJ-500; SGJ-550; SGJ-555; SGJ-600; SGJ-800 etc.
These models can be found much more cheaper than Sharp VZ models. SGJ-600 example

You could try and find a JVC DC-7 I found this one in the wild for £9 almost looks new.
Sound quality is good but a bit light in the bass department.
The turntable is a linear tracker so it doesn't mind being carried or moved around whilst playing.Did I say carried maybe not, with batteries installed probably weighs not far off 20kgs.Here's mine.

Wow thats a heavy mofo. For me the sound is not a big deal. I just want one for the aesthetic value.

The JVC DC33L is a nice unit too, even though it is a little weak on the bass side. If you upgrade the woofers,it will ROCK!
Here is mine under my Kaboom.
