yep, ive done it- and this time its big! ive scored a big box from a charity shop.
it goes like this
"andy, its dave.ive got you another stereo mate.its a sharp gf525". well i couldnt believe it. and all for a tenner. the case is very lightly soiled/marked and everything works except deck 2- plays very quietly.
fuzzy duck- noticed you scored a 525 from a carboot sale. are you of agreeance with me that these are quite bass light?
still, i dont care. its gorgeous. i love it. did i do well for £10 or is this the going rate for these?
anyway just glad to be back- i might have caught the cold but it just proves i can still catch a good un y'know

i wish i could post pics of my collection but i cant- i dont have a digital camera, etc etc, in fact funny enough the only 'technology' i have are my bboxes and my tv/video/dvd player. got loads of pics on my mobile but cant get them on here- pity as i must have at least 30 pics.
thanks about the 525, yeah im chuffed with it. it says on pocket calculator site that its quite rare in this country.my only thing is its not got much bass. maybee if i turn it up a bit. still it looks great

I found the GF-525 pretty good for bass to be honest, I was very surprised. It sounds as good if not better than the GF-8989.

well my search finally paid off.......dont know how it is round your way for pickin up bbx`s but its pretty hard in blackpool.....car boots are useless...charity shops cant sell them cos the electric health & safety thing but friday 11 sept i popped into a housing re-cycling centre and picked up a sharp gf-8585.........love it when that happens.

wouldnt mind the 8585 myself. lovely machine - ilove my gf's- 9090,525,450. but im always wanting more of them. by the way ive cranked up my 525 slightly and ive come to realise i had it on too low cos as you turn it up the bass really kicks in!

My 525 has pretty good bass which surprised me as it's practically identical to it's better looking brother, the GF-555 which is extremely bass-shy!

I was looking at a 555...Aren't they basically the same box? I thought they would sound the same.
