Sharp WF-939

bods - 2009-11-30 02:09

Picked this up yesterday

Where these available over in the UK, or is this a japan model being a Z?

Couldn't believe me luck, I was liking this since seeing it on the pocketcalculatorshow site

Didn't realise it was so big, same size as the JVC DC-33L

Not many boxes with Spectrum Analyzer on, and ten channel as well

Needs abit of work, but nothing that can't be sorted I reckon, and it sound pretty darn good and powerfull, 90w power consumption, not bad for 20 quid Smile

It was one I wanted to see and hear Smile

Always hate it when bits are missing but I didn't care for £20 think I can get the complete door for around £30 so £50-60 still would be damn good

It's all working, tapes run abit slow and need a service, gave it a clean and it's not bad overall.

Couple of good points I've found

1. No matter what volume level is at, the power light does not dim like most other makes/models

2. The line in has a 3 way switch, not seen that before, when playing a cd through old equipment, you get distortion because the newer CD's are recorded so loud, this has 2 input levels, CD the lowest, Line in slightly higher and distorts and Phono Cool

Oh and the 3rd it sounds bloody great, just got Now 1 CD playing through it, lovely sound and good bass when in a nice position

I want boomboxs that are worth listening too and this is one at the top of the list Big Grin

Smile Yeah i'll get it all sorted and post some pics

Just found the manual to read online, I've seen the stickers on one saying 200w pmpo but this tells ya the RMS as well

Quite a respectable 2x 13w RMS Big Grin Got it on again tonight with some 80's tunes playing

still buzzing for you, mate- for me to find something as damn decent as that is the stuff of dreams, and yeah, 20 quid isnt bad- id have gone in at fifteen and if they still wanted 20 id happily pay that- bet the spectrum anyliser looks freaking brilliant!!!!!!! Cool
