What's the Worst Sounding LARGE Boombox ? Any source Played !

Any source - Meaning - Whatever Music Played through the [ Boombox ] ...

Whether Played from What the boombox Internally Provide's - normally Radio & Cassette,
Or from the Line - in's - that is; Whatever you can plug into your boombox

Why does It Sound Bad ?

What Could you do To Make it Sound Better?
- other than replacing the speakers - easiest to do...

Thanks, I wish to know Which Boombox's are "deemed"
Bad sounding or Not Good Sounding...

List here Please;

On the Big Boomboxes with underpowered amps that make the woofers fart out at volume, I can go in to the speakers( on three piece Sepertaes units) and Put modelling Clay( or Dynamat-I prefer the Clay) To add some weight to the cabinets and damp some resonance.Improves te sound a lOT!!

The Breakdancer/Dynasty BD 8000 or Madonna Blaster...
thats the bad sounding boombox i've ever heard

Dynamat !!! I havn't Thought Of trying this in a boombox - Great Idea - (( Thanks, Mr. JerryJG ))
Dynamat used in a Boombox - [ Individual speakers - 3-piece ] ok
Dynamat used in In ( FullSize ) boombox - Have you tried this?

Basically any box that's 25 inches long yet only weighs 12 pounds.....Doesn't weigh enough to keep from vibrating.

all lasonic are horible.

baby.boomer - 2009-12-19 11:23

JVC RC-550 mono. Ten inch main speaker and 3-way system mean nothing.

i must agree i know my 975 is a decent size box, but my helix 4636 blows it far away. i had a 931 a wile back it wasn't bad, just expected more fire power.

The Magnavox D8443 blows....

l.lopez - 2009-12-20 01:18

I agree with Ghettoman the Crown SZ-5100 sounds horrible with fake tweeters no line inputs cheap controls and my midsize Sanyo M-9990 sounds better and well built. Nod Yes

Yo Lopez! Check out this Super Jumbo I spotted in the Tribal Clothing Warehouse in San Diego today. It ain't as dope as yours but it still cool to see one around...

retro.addict - 2009-12-20 15:34

The Sharp GF-9000. It's huge and has 8" woofers, but sounds like a mid-size box with 6.5" woofers.

My Toyota EA900 is VERY loud but totally unimpressive when it comes to sound. Frown

That said, all Sharp GF-777's and variants thereof must be just as wack! Nod Yes
