Grundig PA 1 - very special boombox

hifitom - 2009-12-20 07:16

Hello

My new toy arrived today - it's a Grundig PA 1. It looks very special, but it sounds great. Got this special "Space Fidelity" sound which is a 3D sound system - and this realy works!

The build in subwoofer makes a nice bass + it got a lots of power! 2 x 25 watts + 1 x 50 watts of music power (2 x 15 + 1 x 30 watts rms), and even on batterys this thing pushes 2 x 8 + 1 x 10 watts RMS! Not bad for a boombox ...

Best wishes
Tom

As far as I remeber there is a matching rack for this unit, right?
I didnĀ“t know, that it takes batteries Eek

hifitom - 2009-12-20 09:11

No, there is no rack for this unit.

There are simular units PA3, PA5 ??? which are for home use, but this one was the only mobile Space Fidelity system ...

Grundig also produce a TV, 55 cm, with a build in 100 watt amp and inputs for CD-player, walkmans, ..., with the same speaker units like the once in the PA 1 ...

Best wishes

It also got a remote, see picture 1 ...

Well Tom, as always, you find the premium units! (Even if it's a little wierd looking!) You need to showthis off to the guys at Boomboxery. I know they've never seen it. Big Grin

Hello

I realy don't know when this unit was produced. I think it must be around 1990.

And no, it has no Disco lights. The "Space Fidelity" series was the premium line of Grundig, called "Fine Arts" ...

I know it looks wierd, but the sound of the unit is great. The room is filled with music - very nice ...

Best wishes
TOM
