working at the charity shop pays off

yo blaster buddies
if i were to make one suggestion and only one it would be this-volunteer to work in your local large charity shop-but only ones that sell electric goods.volunteer to help them in their electrical department, sorting and function testing their donated electrical goods.
as you know i now volunteer at the bhf at barnsley, and youd be amazed what good stuff, and crap stuff, turns up.just today i got a nice condition hitachi trk 7340e,all working, for 2 quid.youd be amazed what stuff gets rejected, too.so there are vast scrap piles of rejected electrics (mainly tellies) but look deep and you can find some great stuff.
just remember to be honest and let your boss know youve found i.e "this ghettoblaster" in the rubbish, and they will generally do you a good deal-so at least the charity, and you both win.but try and test it if you can-most the time stuff gets slung for silly stuff, but you dont wanna get home and find it really is totally dead!!!!!!!
good luck-anyone want to share their tales of working at the charity/thrift/goodwill shop?
