the thing about boxes with original boxes

andyboombox - 2010-03-11 06:00

hi guys-been a while since i posted owt new-so here goes.
can we get up some pics of your boxes with their original boxes/packaging/instructions etc.
ive been inspired to this post as ive just stumbled upon a sanyo m2246g portable tape recorder at my charity shop-with original box, instructions and best of all-sales reciept-dated 1981 from comet.the original owner paid just £19.90 for it!
it may only be a tape recorder, but its not the usual long flat type-its in the shape/style of a normal mono boombox.and heres the thing-it is MINT-and i do mean mint-never used-not a mark on it-the deck itself shows NO sign of wear at all-my guess is it was mistakenly bought as a radio cassette player-and took home to realise its only a tape recorder-so its been put back in its original box-maybee to give someone for christmas-shoved in a cupboard and simply forgotten about.its a nice story- if only it were true.
so i have my first, basically new in box machine.it still has the brand new smell.
i had to give a tenner for it.
so folks- show us yours and tell us their stories.......

patience my friends, patience.
yes the box for this little beauty was in the bin-flattened-so ive had to repair and rebuild it.first thing we normally do is chuck boxes for items to make room.doubt ill get any more stereos with boxes anyway
