aiwa cs-m1

petshopboysanfrancisco - 2010-07-15 17:26

i just tried bidding on an aiwa cs-m1 from germany and the seller blocked me from bidding. at first he replied back and said shipping to the usa was 20 euro...ok, then i emailed asking about the condition of the item and the controls, besides the broken belt and i made an offer of $100. he replies back refusing my offer, them only says that the belt is cut off and he cut and paste my offer and his reply to show it was worth more than $100 to get higher bids? ok...i ask again about the condition. well when it came down to bidding, i found out the last few seconds that he had blocked me from bidding. it ended at only $54.00. i emailed him back why he blocked me and he said i was asking too many silly questions!!!! so i replied, too bad because i was bidding $145 and you only got $54...lol. he was rather rude. to me it seems he blocked me because there was probably more wrong with this aiwa than just a broken belt. i'm sure he assumed since i was asking all these questions, the only way to avoid having someone buy it and confront him with these issues is just to block them from bidding. such a sad seller. oh, he refered to my questions about working functions as "gossip"..what the heck is that? guess he did not want to post the truth about the item not functioning besides the non working cassette...

"Hello, money is only a option not more !!!!!! The block is aswer to your gossip questions !!! Your behavior is like LOL, right !!!
Stop"

and here's a story from Lithuania:
one of my mates bought this Sanyo M-4500: from here (advertisement is still active)
Other guy new that and he asked him couple of days ago to re-sell that box. Mate said "well, i dunno, maybe, couse i want other one. But only, if i get one someday". Now that guy is already selling Sanyo at some our local pages with my mate's Sanyo pics (that hustler asked to send some pics for checking its cosmetical condition), and the the price is twice bigger, than he offered to my mate. But Sanyo is still at my mates place, and he is not selling it yet!!
People are asking now him "wait a minute, pall, it's the same box as here, innit?"
Hustler is answering "first of all, no, not the same. If u want, u can buy from there, but my box's condition is much better. I made my offer, u can choose now"

PETSHOPBOY,SFS i would be glad you did,nt spend all them dollars on something that,s obviously not worth the cash Nod Yes and by the sound of the seller, he seems a very arrogant person, i would call it a lucky escape Wink

i know, i took it as a sign that maybe it was to my advantage that he blocked me from bidding cause item was worse off than he described internally. whatever the case, i thought that was pretty rude to block me from bidding for asking questions about it the volume, tone and balance buttons worked, was there crackling sounds besides the non working tape deck, any wear not shown in photos? how are those silly questions? anyways, his block out back fired for him only getting him $54.00. Big Grin

A lot of these people think that buyers should expect wear & tear on boomboxes simply because they are so old. They say things like "I dont want to deal with people who ask a lot of questions, this is a used item, so you should expect some things might need fixing"......And yet they set a high Buy It Now price, much higher than someone could buy it at a boot or swap meet. If you are going to charge that much money for a 30 year old boombox, then you should not be surprised when people ask questions about it.
