lav.loo - 2010-08-17 14:22

i was just thinking back to when i first started collecting and got my first box my philips d8614, it,s the box in my avvy for anyone that is,nt familiar with it.
after falling in love with it literally Laugh Out Loud i decided i was going to get as many of them as i could.
it was only time that saved me after doing all the research and finding out that there is literally hundreds of different boxes out there to choose and get, otherwise i would have had as many d8614,s as poss Big Grin
anyway i just wandered how many of you guys have 2 or 3 or even more of your fave boxes Wink

I got two d8614's too, and two philips ART 20 (portable radio-cassette-black-and-white-television) and two panasonic TR 1200-S , wich are also portable radio-tv-cassette's. My favorite radio is the Sony cfs88l, if i find a second one i will surely buy it.. and a third.. and a fourth...

richard.heijnen - 2010-08-18 14:23

Here's the proof:

richard.heijnen - 2010-08-18 14:39

And this is the panasonic. Unfortunatly his "brother" is in the attic, and he's just too heavy to carry around.. so i cant show them together in one pic..

lav.loo - 2010-08-18 14:48

hey good stuff RICHARD Nod Yes nice to see another d8614 fan around here Big Grin

richard.heijnen - 2010-08-18 15:17

When i was about 13, 14 years old, i saw a picture of it in a little philips brochure, and i immediatly fell in love with it. Months later i found one in a store, and i asked the guy if i could listen to it (at it? pardon me english... i'm dutch..) I was completely stunned by the sound quality. Most portables at that time (around 1982) couldn't stand in its shadow.. Here in holland they're easy to get, there are a lot of them still around.

lav.loo - 2010-08-18 15:54

yes the sound quality is awesome on them, if their easy to pick up in holland then i may have to visit there Big Grin by the way, your english is great Wink

driptip - 2010-08-18 17:25

i used to have these.

retro - 2010-08-18 19:19

Love the build quality and sound on the 490 and 492's, they are just too heavy. Very impressive Driptip...

2steppa - 2010-08-18 23:00

I have 2 x Crown 5100 and 2 x Pioneer SK-353.

Wasn't 'intentional' as such, just they came up at irresistable prices so it just had to be done Big Grin

richard.heijnen - 2010-08-19 07:53

If only international shipping wasn't so ridiculously expensive, i could send you a few 8614's, lav..
Btw do you know the 8623? It looks exactly the same, but in stead of fm, mw, lw, and sw reception it has fm, mw, and 2x sw reception.
Here's a link to a dutch marketsite:
http://link.marktplaats.nl/369646426

As you can se, they only ask about 10 to 15 euro's for it. The cassettedeck isn't 100%, though.

lav.loo - 2010-08-19 11:00

i never knew of the 8623 RICHARD No No and 15 euros Eek that,s unbelievable, man your lucky living in holland Nod Yes thanks for the link too Wink
