Nice deal on a rainy day

Rainy here in Toronto today, but it didn't stop me from scoring a nice JVC for $10. A very heavy RC-828C with Vu meters which are always a cool addition! It has some dents and scrapes in the metal, but nothing major at all. The shop owner said it didn't work, but I'll have to test it out as it has no ac cord.

He also says there's another big one in the basement, which looks like the GF777, and I could have it for $5 if he finds it. I told him, that if that is the case, I will buy it for sure Wink even if it is missing the cassette door like he says. Did the 777 come under other names? I'll be checking back next week to see if he found it (here's hoping).
Enjoy my JVC guys.

like the 676 and the 100, they all are the same size. it would the ideal find for being in toronto. I have never found anything like that before here.!

Congrat's Stretch!! Nice to see a fellow GTA member get a nice box. Here's hoping the one in the basement is a 777zSmile

Very nice 828. Cool

Thanks guys! It needs a cleaning badly, but that doesn't show in the photo heh. The other box, is not a 777 the guy said. He did say it looks like one though. What else could it be? Did they release the 777 box under different names? I'm going back next week to see if he found it Cool

Nice box, the 828, solid, good sound.

The only rebranding of the 777 I've ever seen was in Japan. Monolithic would know more. If it looks like a 777, it could be a Sigmatech like this one.

They were sold in Canada. IMO, definitely worth going back and trying to get from the guy. Nod Yes

Awesome. He himself actually came out and said it looked like the gf777 but wasn't one, so it leads me to believe he knows a bit about these boxes and would know if it was one or not heh. It's missing one cassette door, but I don't care for $5. I'll let you guys know what happens next week; if he finds it or not. It would be nice to have a big boomer again Wink
