"Silver" minibox help?

nevone - 2010-11-01 08:36

Can someone give me more information about one small box named "Silver"? I found one for sale, looked like the pic, but no info on the model/producer/capabilities. Any idea, anyone?

Looks like the box haves detachable speakers, tape counter, slider volumes, led vu-meter, large phone jack.

I've done some digging round on the net and found these pages.

History of the 'Silver' brand, plus two models

A little bit of information about the brand, plus some models

A list of various models from the brand

Hope this helps a bit!

I had the Montgomery Wards version of that box at one time.
Jens looked it up for me and found out it was made by Mitsubishi and it was called the Diatone TX-50.

Thank you for the quick replies!

The seller answered me also, the model is SR500, looks like a pretty neat minibox, i think i will buy it. Let-s just hope everything goes well.

Nice list in the sig, Skippy. I-m looking for a Telefunken/Grundig Studio M1 too.

Not every "Diatone" branded radio was made by Mitsubishi corp., for example such models as TA-71A, TX-72 were made by Sharp corp., and virtually they are "Sharp"s: GF-500 and QT-90.
