Panasonic RX-A2

I will try to make a short story out of a long one, lol, so here goes. On Monday in Pittsburgh Craigslist there was a vintage Monster stereo receiver about 2 hours away. So I emailed the guy, went and bought it. By the way it a Toshiba sa-7150. It was dirty but not too beat up, except the wood veneer sides, which a local vintage hifi shop and the owner said he had a parts receiver insuper nice shape and would gather up the parts for it and give me a call when he did. So Saturday night I drive to he shop with my Toshiba which weighs about 70-75 lbs, to get the parts and put them on. So I get there and its the audio geek meeting and he says your parts are over there on the speakers. So I was very excited to see how nice they were and when I had them in my hands I saw what I thought was the owners manual for the receiver which I was super glad coz those are very to come by as we know. BUT it was the owners manual and service manual for the Panasonic RX-A2.which the paper work was sitting on. I asked Tom where he got this and he says just came in, a guy from Florida sent it to me. Thot I may want it. 50 buks I paid and he says it pretty neat.I tred to act like I wasnt too excited about it and remarked that it was the same as the 6400. Is it for sale I asked and he says sure. How much? What I paid, 50 BUCKS!!!! Wow couldnt believe it, so I paid him for the parts and the RX-A2 and hung out at the shop for about 5 hours. So now its close to 11pm Eastern time and wanted to get home and check this out. HOLY S**T. This thing is flipping awesome and so well made. A lil contact cleaner and the volume was static free. What a great piece of art this thing is. With all the cables and evreything included was like a dream. Glad i went when i did. Thats my short story, haha. By the way if anybody knows aout the 2 channel, vintage monster receivers ot the late 70s and early 80s, these are something to behold. Everytime I say I am finished collecting here comes something else that Isee and buy. Never wanted one of these RX-A2s but they are amazing. I am sorry I dont hve a camera coz I know you guys want to see pics, I would. You will just have to trust me that it is pefect cosmeticall. Whew. Peace brothers.

that rx-a2 is the only box i know about that sounds like it has endless power --
at full volume and full bass --
it has the least distortion of any of the big
8" models

The RX-A2/6400 is an absolute beast in terms of output and build quality, although I'm curious to hear that Clarion Xc-5500.

Hey Drip I know I am way behind the times. I should have got one ages ago but keep jacking around. Also I had to change my Username to Ash26 since the new site wouldnt let me post until I verified my email and when I did it said it wasnt recognized. So a new name is born. Oh well, guess I will be a newbie again.
