I was doubting about which ones were the most advanced or full-featured boomboex within the tape and cd era (ipod base excluded).
I have some in my mind, and I can scan from my catalogues, but one of them comes quickly to my mind: the AIWA Strasser CSD-SR8, a impressive piece of high-tech on 1991 that I think didn't come out of japan. I've seen one to a old friend japanese...

Between the 2 the Aiwa might have the edge, with crazy features like AM Stereo & a "bass range" control to choose the frequency that the bass (BBE) control adjusts.
Although the servo assisted cobratop is way cool too.
