endo -- here is one of the early jvc kaboom models --the centers of both woofers light up in time to the beats --looks great at night --
it does not sound as deep or big like the newer kabooms --
but sounds infinitely better that than bunch of trash oldskool just showed you Laugh Out Loud

also - check out the rambo collection -- he has a lit up shot of the famous discolite --which is the max for lighting.

How bout a short clip of Sinister's Disco box better? http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=30mr8g8&s=3

As far back as the early-1980s, I started adding lights to the speakers of ghetto blasters.

Miniature incandescent Christmas bulbs at first (I don't remember which machine I modified with these bulbs first, but it was one that performed very well even with low batteries), then LEDs when they became bright enough to do the job.

And in 1987, I added bright yellow-green LEDs and a VU circuit to a fairly large boombox (possibly a GE); installing the LEDs vertically along each side of the tape transport. This allowed the LEDs to flash with the beat of the music. If I remember, I connected the inputs of the VU circuit to part of the audio signal path before the volume pots - this allowed the LEDs to flash the same way regardless of the volume.

Good grief.

I can only match this in the walkman section with the aid of petrol & matches.

Wouldn't that be the DiscoFlame Walkman? To bad that would be a one time show.
