My GF-777Z has a baby brother now!

After Emily and I came home from the pool today, there was a box waiting for me on the front porch. I took it inside and moved all of the GF-777Z pieces (I'm in the middle of repairing my broken power switch courtesy of the wife - watch for a post on that later).

Anyway, I opened the box and the boombox inside was barely wrapped in one layer of big bubble wrap. Luckily, all appeared to be okay. I know the cassette decks will need some work, based on what the seller stated. I still can't believe I got this boombox for less than $70 - including shipping! Anyway, without further ado, let me introduce the newest member to the Fatdog family - the Sharp GF-666Z (aka "The Devil Box"). Big Grin

That's B/TCH/N ! I love the dual illumination and recessed knobs. Very cool indeed and I'm sure he will get along great with his big brother Laugh Out Loud

Way to go Bobby! Very nice! Now all you need is holy water fro your "devil box" for guaranteeing proper operation. Big Grin

Oh yeah, let me know how the 777 "switch my wife broke" goes! Laugh Out Loud

Frigin awesome Fatdog but do you have to pour salt in my wounds for forgetting to bid. Wink

I'm glad you got it so cheap, we all need a reasonable boomer find once in a while. Cool

I'll hopefully get around to giving it a thorough inspection/cleaning/testing tomorrow since my GF-777 has exploded all over the kitchen table. One thing I can say about the Devil Box so far is that it has very crisp high frequencies. Probably because the tweeters aren't pushed back three inches into a stupid horn. Roll Eyes

I'm already thinking of ways I can sneak a GF-555 into the house... Wink

That box always reminds me of the 555 and the like, but I think the 666 is a bit nicer. Yours looks very clean for an uncleaned/unrestored box, and the price was good. Well done!

Congrats fatdog - it looks to be in pretty good shape, despite the minimal packing.

Awesome Fatdog, a stunning score!!

I haven't seen that many 666s and yours is the cleanest, that lovely babe looks factory-new. Eek Cool
The blue highlights really do look beautiful along with the orange marks on the tuning dial. That sticker in the battery compartment is really funny lol, I laughed when I saw the one on my 555 for the first time. Big Grin
Thanks so much for posting!
