Crown 850 strap

ez - 2008-05-25 03:51

Just picked one up today from a market. Pretty good condition i'll put picks up later. Now, what is everyone using to lug this beast around? I've heard of guitar straps & camera straps but what is the best type of strap to suit the luv handles on this thing?

Oh, and it's reasonably clean condition with only minimal dust around vents and switches. Is it worth ripping the guts out and giving it a bath? Looks as if everything is hardwirede meaning i'd have to take the whole thing out at once with all six of my arms. Is it an easy task for those of you that have done it?

Cheers

I use the original strap which is still attached to my unit Big Grin

But well to give you some help:

lot of people use old seatbelts i think.Cut them to the right lenght and it will work.
You could also get lucky and find something that'll fit on ebay.Maybe a belt from modern radios?

By the way..the 850 is an easy fix.One of the best boxes when it comes to a ripoff..pretty simple and easy task here!

Hey there, you'll love the 850... One of my favourite machines, and I think Kid Sensation will agree when I say it packs a punch.

Here's what I do for most of my boxes with side handles - go to your local cheap 1 pound / 1 dollar / 1 euro shop and pick up a luggage belt or strap. They come in loads of colours and are adjustable too!!

They are incredibly cheap and I have about 5 different ones that I switch betwen my radios.

Here's my 550 with a nice colourful strap -

The same strap on my 850 -

All the best and have fun!

Alright i'll get to it! Wish it had those white connecter attachments to the wires though. I find it makes the job much easier

Good idea, ill check out the $2 shops we have around here. It would be good having a few sets of straps. Just like swaping those reel cleer cassettes around. Thanks Kid & beatbox!

Got a strap from my old kiteboarding bag. Stiched up one of the ends so the loop was bigger and could accommodate those massive love handles. Here's my mum representing RUN DMC & the 850. enjoy!

Great topic!

Now... what does everyone do with boxes that have a 'snap in' style connection built into the top of their BBX?

My new Elite 7070 has this, but no strap!

Yes I do! Same crown logo as my 930F. My 850 also has a voltage selector of 110, 200 & 240.
