My doctor put me on a three piece diet

mister.x - 2008-04-10 18:37

I can't believe I walked by this monster twice before taking a serious look at it. It's a JVC PC-W350J and it's a beast, this thing clocks in at close to 30 lbs without batteries. The handle is removable but is necessary if moving the unit.

Some of the cool features include a tuning needle that turns from red to green when locked on a station (AM/FM/SW1/SW2). Soft touch controls (my first box with ST), source selector for tuner/CD/Phono. The famous JVC SEA EQ (6 bands). MIC in, high speed dubbing, left and right volume with LED power display above the volume.

I think those are the "sony style" square speakers but I've only seen them on awia and Sony Boxes.

All of the controls have a visual display above the tape deck under the tuner dial. The only problem is tape deck one doesn't work (yet). I took the photo from that great website www.recallsharp.ru the only site I could find info on this unit. Oh yea it was only $15.00

I've been trying to hunt one of these for a while! Where did you find it? Nice! Big Grin

Plus you really wanna see a three piece diet? Laugh Out Loud

One of the local thrifts...I was actually checking out the JVC Mini next to it because at first glance it looks like a cheesy early 90's box. There's not a lot of three-piece units I like but I got lucky this time..

Well, if you get tired of that one...I'm putiing it out there...I GOT FIRST DIBS! Big Grin

I am a three piece freak myself. Maybe I have a nice one piece to trade down the line if your interested... Big Grin

Awesome find Mister X, the thrift stores have coughed up some nice boxes lately. Smile

What do you know about this model? It must have been one of their flagship models, I'd love to see a catalog page or brochure if anyone can post.

Actually the PC-55 was the flagship. The model you have came out when the slide began. This one is much like my Sansui CP-99W, full logic double cassette and loaded to the gills.
