Candidate For Conversion

I don't know if anyone else has seen one of these before. This is a Sears brand Proformance bookshelf system I lucked up on in a thrift store while in Montgomery, Alabama for work. (I work away from home during the week.) I could not pass this up as you see in the photos it's in MINTY FRESH condition! Now, of course it's not a box, but could be...

Hmmmm...a handle...15v off the transformer to cassette gives a hint at possibilities...possible space in the cassette section to make a battery compartment...umbilical for power back to amp like the JVC PC-3/11...speaker upgrade(this thing is POWERFUL!)???

The speakers quickly reveal that this may have been a pumped up rebadged Sanyo product. What do you think? Big Grin Here are the pics.

Well? Big Grin

It looks like a nice little system! I would at least put a fake handle on it and keep it on the shelf. Looks like there is space behind the speakers to put a couple of motorcyle batteries and an inverter though. Go for it! It would give my JVC Boominator a run for its money!

How much was it BTW?

Dman.... maybe old-school mini-shelf systems are the next big thing to collect. If you can get gear like that for peanuts! Nice find!

Cool shelf system, it has the look of a high quality 3 piece box kind of like the RX-C100.
