Treasure Hunt box !

About 3 weeks ago i went to a not so local waste/recycle centre that i always stop in at when im in the area. It is one of the few remaining centres that will salvage and re sell electrical gear. Most places now tell me they are not allowed to for safety reasons !
The electrical stuff is kept under cover in a shed so i always head straight there to see what i can find, but there is never any boomboxes and if there is a radio it will be an egg with a broken cd player !!
This particular day was no different.... but as i went to leave i stopped and looked across the yard at where the broken 'white goods' are kept (about 40 mtrs away) ready to be loaded up and taken away for recycle.
I dont know why i stopped and looked, i never do, but there it was sitting on top of an old washing machine facing straight at me, handle up and chrome shinning in the sun. I couldnt get over there quick enough Smile
OK its not a grail but a nice find for anyone i believe

I asked why it was not in the shed with the other stuff for sale and was told that the old 'radios' dont sell so they dont keep them. No wonder i never found any there !
So i gladly paid the $2 for the old radio and took it home. And yes it is fully working too.

Thanks for looking

That's great AZA!! Eek I love those Sanyo's, and that one looks a real big 'un! Nod Yes If these boxes had separate bass & treble, they'd be fantastic! Cool What model's that, M99?? Smile

That's a nice looking Sanyo AZA! Cool
I'm sure those guys will keep them for you in future if you ask them.

My local dump guys are great, they always keep any radios for me and only charge a small price.
The other dumps I've tried have the same stupid attitude about safety as in your area even when I've mentioned that I repair them.
