hi andre,i`ve had a few of those, they sound ok but not brilliant, and they always have cd laser problems,i`ve never had a perfect one yet..i`de go for an old box,and maybe plug your mp3 in to it to save on battery power..tape deck uses most power..if you use mp3 player,it will save you having to lugg loads of tapes about with you all the time..

hey paul,

thanks for info and yeah, the cd player is broken and only one tape deck works but doesn't really bother me, it'll be nice just to have something portable and loud. nice tip on saving battery by the way, shall keep that in mind.

cheers

most boxes that already having a cd player, they dont usually have line in aswell, just make sure it has got one man..i`de still go more for something retro, you could pick something of for cheap coin, you should look out for a box with a broken tape deck, you will get it for less, then just use you mp3 player, cant go wrong mate..

If it has a line-in I would get it.The fact that it has an equalizer instead of presets would sell it to me also.I have a similar period Fisher with a similar layout. If it's close to that it's no slouch. It looks like one of the nicer post "golden era" boxes.
